Over the weekend, Brad Pitt (after extricating himself from his position at the bottom of the Jolie-Pitt tackle pile) not only attended the Directors Guild Of America Awards but also presented Quentin Tarantino with the “Feature Film Nomination Plaque” for Inglourious Basterds. All appeared to go well except for the moment when Pitt (see below comparison) attempted a good-natured impression of one of the director’s infamous gestures with some very mixed results. As you can observe, Pitt pretty much nails Tarantino’s classic “triple lutz with a double thumbs up on the landing,” but the facial expression misses the mark and lands squarely in unintentionally hilarious Benicio Del Toro does Wolfman territory.
It’s that fucking goatee again, folks.
At this point, I think it’s safe to conclude that Pitt’s mass of untamed facial hair, much like Nicole Kidman’s botox, has actually caused Pitt to lose control of his facial muscles because, clearly, there’s some overcompensation going on here:
