For certain, it’s a bad week to be an English rock star. This first bit of news is truly bizarre and comes from Alison Mosshart of The Kills, who are currently on tour in support of The Raconteurs, on their Myspace page:

OUR BUS DRIVER IS MISSING AND/OR HURT/DEAD/or A THIEF. OUR BUS HAS DISAPPEARED.

How can 3 tons of black metal vanish into thin air?

This really sucks. The Kills are currently in route to Nashville, Tennessee, and they’re doing so while missing their luggage, personal belongings, and much of their equipment as well. The F.B.I. is currently searching for the tour bus in the U.S. and Mexico, and the driver’s cell phone has been off since the bus disappeared.

Meanwhile, The Kills’ guitarist, Jamie Hince has, allegedly, paid a few drunken visits to a psychic in order to woo back his “ex-girlfriend,” Kate Moss. This rumour is so incredibly stupid because every damn time Hince leaves for tour, it turns into the inevitable tabloid talk of “blazing rows” between he and Moss, followed by an assumed breakup, complete with all sorts of elaborations on the why, how, and whateverthefuck else of the matter.

Next up, the band currently functioning as the home for most wayward members of The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, have announced the band’s impending demise:

The band — who featured three former Libertines members and an ex-Cooper Temple Clause bassist — announced on Wednesday that things had run their course after three years of playing together and releasing two albums.

“It is with some sadness that we announce the farewell of the Dirty Pretty Things,” frontman Carl Barat said in a statement. “It’s been a glorious three years which we all would gladly live out again, but it is time for us to try new things (not The Libertines).

“We are reluctant to give up touring but will give the last waltz everything. We have and are determined to go out as we came in, after which we all have other ventures to be getting on with and splendid future plans.”

Poor Peter Doherty…. a preemptive shunning! Meanwhile, this fellow former Libertine has been busying himself by making more crappy home videos to demo tunes. Hence, Doherty’s latest, “gracewasteland/s” in which he (again) confesses his enduring love of Kate Moss and includes some old video footage of Moss mouthing, “I love you” as well. Bless his little cotton socks. As with last time, my little black heart actually breaks for Peter when watching the below video:
