See, I didn’t even have to come up with a clever subtitle for this post, because the product here is Punk Rock Pizza, a chain specific to cities that really matter, you know, like New York City. Other than the obvious cravings for the pizza itself, these adverts provoke within me a strange yearning for some old-school Henry Rollins, circa Black Flag. Then again, many things make me nostalgic for Henry Rollins, so maybe it’s the anarchy sign cut into the pizza that really hits the spot.
With regard to the so-called “punk” nature of this pizza, however, a couple of seminal punk bands have taken to supporting Punk Rock Pizza by loaning their likenesses to the pizza chain. Earlier this year, a photo of The Clash appeared on a set of 1500 limited edition, rock ‘n’ roll pizza boxes. The Ramones soon allowed themselves to be photographically sedated as well. That’s all I’ve got bitches, and hopefully my autopilot blogging sessions will end shortly.

Whenever I think of Black Flag I think of being fifteen and my first real girlfriend, the only punk at my high school (who was a girl).
Ah yes, your “Punk Rock Girl.”
