Adverts That Work #86: Apocalypse Wow

Banco Adverts

Sometimes, the graphic artists who create adverts do such a spectacular job that they, literally, wash the competition away. The Y&R agency of Lima Peru put together this awe-inspiring Banco Financiero campaign, which pulls its concepts from disaster flicks and a little bit of B-movie badness. The result is a nice balance between the respective “Bloody hell!” and “Fucking badass!” sentiments. The above advert, admidst the crashing tsunami wave, makes v. clever use of the helicopter’s spotlight to highlight the billboard’s message, and the lone yellow window curtain is just one example of the attention to detail here. The other adverts from this campaign, which feature an alien invasion and a Cloverfield-styled monster attack, can be found below.

I R A Darth Aggie

I want that billboard on my apartment. I’ll be the last one alive, no matter which disaster befalls us.
