The appropriately well-travelled Alan Cumming is, naturally, quite concerned about proper etiquette while traversing the stratosphere. For all those who make the home voyage by plane, he passes on a relevant tip:
“I always think the pressure on planes gives you a hard-on,” he mused. “My friend I was just working with said that when he goes to sleep, he always puts the table out in case he gets a hard-on whilst he’s asleep. That’s a very good tip for your readers if they want to avoid embarrassment on a plane.” And just in time for the holiday season!
This is just one more evidentiary foundation to prove that Alan Cumming really is the queer Martha Stewart.

Straight men don’t say “whilst.” It’s been scientifically proven.
Can’t say this has been a huge problem (haha) for me on planes. Then again I am not much for sleeping on planes either. Maybe a blanket would be more appropriate than a tray table though? It seems the tray table may pose its own dangers; what if it starts raising up while you’re asleep? That can only call attention to the issue.
Well, if the tray table actually starts to raise up, I’m thinking that would be rather impressive.
I’d say it would depend what was on the tray.
