Alec Baldwin continues to slave away at the thankless task of explaining why it was completely appropriate to talk to his rude, thoughtless little pig daughter Ireland as if she were a real estate agent from Glengarry Glen Ross. (”Put the doll down, Ireland! Dolls are for closers!“) Today he went so far as to discuss the issue with Rosie and Baba Wawa on The View. Whether he was sincere or not, that couldn’t have been fun. Personally I’d rather undergo a few hours of waterboarding at Gitmo than discuss my personal problems on network TV with the likes of those two.
Meanwhile, Baldwin has cut his ties with Creative Artists Agency for undisclosed reasons. One reason might be that CAA still represents Alec’s ex Kim Basinger. However, Page Six suggests that Baldwin may have left after fellow CAA client Will Ferrell put up a video of Alec screaming at Dora the Explorer on his FunnyOrDie.com website. Supposedly Baldwin asked CAA to pressure Ferrell into taking the clip down, and the agency refused. None of the parties involved will confirm this. Baldwin’s rep Matthew Hiltzik offered this comment on the matter: “Three-year-olds everywhere are upset that Dora the Explorer and her friends are being dragged into this.”
