Oh, I know my Emcee, baby. After Alan Cumming came Michael C. Hall, Ral Esparza, Neil Patrick Harris, Adam Pascal, Jon Secada, and John Stamos.

With a little help from Wikipedia on a few of those middlers. ;)

Huh. I had thought Neil Patrick Harris originated that look for the Emcee, but it turns out he didn't step into the role until 2003. However, the production made its biggest profit while he was in the role.

John Stamos has also played the Emcee, which is just too weird to think about.

"I want to go to prison and wear ponchos my cellmates have made me." He's a treasure.

He was also really charming and funny in Sweet Land--a real change from the oily nasties he often plays.

What a beastly woman. I have yet to hear a single nice thing about her from anyone who has known her personally, or had to work around her on a regular basis.
