I’m ashamed to admit to watching Crybaby in an actual movie theatre. I think that was Lords’ intended breakthough role, but I mostly went for the Johnny Depp and John Waters.

Was she? I will have to check that out. She also put out a CD that was not entirely awful. (I’m not sure I can bring myself to call it “good”, but I did listen to it in the car for awhile.)

Let me start off by saying my appreciation for Jenna Jameson goes way back. In her early career she impressed everyone with her good looks and enthusiasm, and had a kind of girl-next-door appeal.

Over time, she started changing her appearance, and like some science experiment gone horribly wrong, she’s turned into a caricature of what she started out as. I can’t even bring myself to poke fun at her, there is really nothing funny about it. It’s very sad.

This movie sounds god-awful and I am sure it will be a completely dismal flop. Putting Jenna Jameson in it is a cheap gimmick. If people want to see a good movie with a porn star in it, check out the original Blade (Traci Lords).

On a stranger note, one of the stars of “Meatballs” (yes, the Bill Murray movie about a summer camp) starred just the year before in a bizarre X-rated musical version of Alice in Wonderland. I had a crush on her as a kid and it was a real mind-bending experience to finally track down a copy of “Alice” a couple years ago.
