Perhaps it was the luxurious aura of Bobby Trendy that convinced all nine justices on the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse and remand the case of Vickie Lynn Marshall (aka Anna Nicole Smith) back to the 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals. It would seem that the 26-year old stripper who married an 89-year old billionaire now stands a damn good chance of receiving the District Court’s original $44.3 million judgment against the billionaire’s son, Pierce. The Supreme Court found that the 9th Circuit’s reversal was completely off-target as it dismissed the case after only considering jurisdiction and construed an inapplicable loophole far too broadly against Anna Nicole Smith. HA ha.

In retrospect, the high court’s decision isn’t so startling considering that any half-baked law student knows that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals holds the dubious honour of being the most-reversed federal appellate court in the nation. The always sassy Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg penned the Court’s opinion with nary a muster from any of the other justices, save a concurrence from Justice Stevens.

Now this all goes back to the 9th Circuit with the District Court’s findings that Pierce Marshall “[C]onspired to suppress or destroy the inter vivos trust instrument J. Howard had directed his lawyers to prepare” in order for Anna Nicole Smith to inherit half of his fortune, as well as the “‘overwhelming’ evidence of Pierce’s willfulness, maliciousness, and fraud.” Ahem. If I were Pierce Marshall, I’d be very afraid at this point.
