Ashlee Simpon: keepsin’ it real

By Phineas G. in Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson’s appearance on the July issue of Marie Clare is causing a bit of a stir at the magazine’s offices. I just don’t understand why Marie Clare’s readers would be upset about Ashlee being on the cover of an issue emphasizing how important it is for women to love their own bodies.

I’m kind of amazed they choose a cover girl who’s changed looks more often then most men change their tighy-whities, but to each their own. Why they decided someone who’s the epitome of a manufactured persona for an article on going all natural befuddles my mind. Does anybody remember what her natural hair color is? From the bottled black to bottled blonde and several points between.

Ashlee told the magazine at the time: “Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident.”

After giving the pep talk explaining to Marie Clare’s readers how they should love themselves as they are she rushed out to the ole sawbones for a bit of chisel work to remove the hump from her nose, some say some chin work was done too and hair extensions or plugs were added. Apparently confidence comes from having large boobages, long blonde hair extensions and being your older more successful sister’s clone.

It wasn’t long ago she was striking it out on her own. She wanted to be Ashlee, not Jessica’s little sister, but now the transformation is complete. Well, we can still hope she’s a bit smarter than a box of rocks, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Maybe she just figured out that blondes really do have more fun.

I know I do.

At least we can always count on Ashlee to keeps it real (YouTube Video sound NSFW).
