It’s not entirely unusual to have movie stars ring the NASDAQ opening or closing bells as part of a film’s promotion, and I do adore Amber Valletta (she’s a local from my hometown) while generally tolerating Gerard Butler and his immutable accent. Still, it sends off some bad vibes, mostly because of this particular film’s subject matter, to promote The Gamer in such a way. Then again, maybe I’m still just weirded out by Cantor Fitzgerald’s proposed real-life futures exchange tied to box office sales. Yeah, that’s probably it. As you were, mates.
