“Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas and unlike them are not used as beasts of burden but are valued only for their fiber (wool), used for making blankets and ponchos in South America, and sweaters, blankets, socks and coats in other parts of the world. The fiber comes in more than 22 natural colours.”
Hmmm. Less “yipping” and more “humming” might make alpacas slightly less chaotic than those trusty LLamas. It seems that two alpaca farms exist in close proximation of yours truly. Yet as I don’t possess an extra $10,000 – $40,000 as of yet, I think that The LLama Butchers will be quite chuffed to save me from this speculative bubble.

Fortunately I looked up what “chuffed” means…
I thought it meant something else entirely…….
Mmmmmmmm…. Alpaca also makes a tasty dinner!
The “beasts of burden” difference cracks me up.
Alpaca for dinner? This vegetarian will take your word on that.
