Calista Flockhart has finally admitted that she dabbled in anorexia. She stated that due to her 15-hour workdays on the set of the hit comedy-drama, Ally McBeal, she allowed herself to stress out and forget about eating properly.
“I started under-eating, over-exercising, pushing myself too hard and brutalising my immune system. I guess I just didn’t find the time to eat. I am much more healthy these days.”
At 5’5″ and 98 pounds, I do believe that “forgetting” to eat was not the problem. However, judging from the above photo, Calista is definitely interested in food these days, which is a good thing, since Hans Solo always seemed like a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy.
It would also appear that Courtney Thorne-Smith felt the pressure to lose those extra five pounds during her time on Ally, because she feared looking like an average woman compared to her size two costars.
The blame game hasn’t completed its cycle as of yet. Portia “Ellen’s Girlfriend” De Rossi has also blamed her former problems with anorexia on Ally McBeal, since she admits to viewing Calista as a role model. Portia joined the show as an uber-hottie, but quickly dropped to a disgustingly thin 92 pounds. The actress went public with her anorectic struggle with the help of girlfriend/talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres. Interestingly enough, Ellen also helped Portia come out to her family concerning her lesbian tendencies.
Will folks ever stop blaming Ally McBeal for their weighty issues? I’m thinking the real culprit was the fancy corporate unisex bathroom. Ick.

Thin does not mean lezzie, I’m afraid
Um, 5’5″ and 98 lbs. is not a size 2. More like a -4!
… where have all the curvy women gone?…. it’s just horrible…
Portia De Rossi actually dropped to 82 pounds…
