Markos Moulitsas, the man behind a shadowy left-leaning website which shall remain nameless, has decided to go public with his influence as a Democratic kingmaker. Here is the ad he cut endorsing Ned Lamont, a Connecticut Democratic who’s taking on Joe Lieberman in the primaries for being insufficently hated by Republicans or something. The ad must be seen to be believed: as Goldstein said, “[B]y ad’s end you’re holding your breath, hoping against hope you’re not going to see Moulitsas thrust his tongue down a slightly confused Connecticut Senate hopeful Ned Lamont’s throat.”
And that’s just the beginning of the problems with this campaign. The helpful folks over at Hot Air have re-cut the ad to put the focus on the real subliminal message, which helps a little. But if this is the direction the Democrats are taking this fall then we know two things: Kos’ endorsement is the kiss of death, and the Republican stranglehold on Congress will last for a thousand years.
Which, granted, would be a bad thing. But—c’mon! Their opponents define “not ready for prime time.

Am I miffed? I have a website too & nobody asked for my endorsement
You should look into this, Jeff. I’ll bet you wield just as much clout in the Bay Area as Kos has in Connecticut….
Seems to me that someone else already did a commercial where a man responds to the ad before it’s finished filming. It even included a line very similar to Lamont’s “this commercial? We’re still shooting!” line. I wish I could remember what company did that…
The “Left Leaning” Kos????
Only a liberal would say that Kos is ‘leaning’ left. By the way, what would you consider a real lefty blog?
I guess Michael Moore and Ted Kennedy lean a bit left, too.
