Emmy night approaches, and the thetans are restless. Somehow the highly focused mind-rays of Tom Cruise and his many co-Scientologists in the Hollywood community failed to prevent Matt Stone and Trey Parker from getting an Emmy nomination for “Trapped in the Closet, the South Park episode where they spent half an hour torturing Tom Cruise in front of a nationwide viewing audience.

Parker and Stone are welcome to all the Emmys they can get, as far as I’m concerned, but it’s hard to see the choice of this specific episode as anything other than a calculated slap in the face at the Couch-hopper. Not that I’m complaining. Emmy night has just become must-see TV, and seeing Parker and Stone walk to the podium to accept their award will be almost the high point. The real high point, of course, will be when Cruise, that demented little munchkin, finally snaps and vaults onto the stage in a feckless attempt to strangle the two animators with his bare hands.

I don’t know…all the sequences in that episode with “THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE” stamped on the bottom of the screen were pretty awesome, and worthy of recognition.
But yes, I am definitely rooting for Matt and Trey to win.
Hail Xenu!

I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.
Slug, Xenu is to the evening Emmys what Kang and Kodos are to the daytime Emmys. He’ll be sitting in the audience while Parker and Stone get the award, and he’ll be simply furious.
True. So very true.
