Big Al’s Love Shack: Yours for Just $2.25 Million

By Mr. Atoz in In The Closet, Star Jones

Rosie O”’Donnell exacted a terrible revenge on Star Jones for the sin of losing weight. She got her kicked off The View and left her with nothing to fall back on but her career as an online sex guru. So now that Star and her “life partner” Al Reynolds are facing, um, lean times, the couple are moving out of their Upper West Side penthouse, and they”’ve even reduced the asking price from $2.5 million to $2.25 million.

That”’s a pretty remarkable deal. For that price, you get a spacious deck and something like six rooms, with little stars everywhere (get it?) and a chandelier and a TV in every freakin”’ room. Not to mention a portrait of Star in the bathroom to serve as virtual lavatory attendant. There”’s no word on whether or not the furnishings are included, although if they are that should knock another quarter mil off the asking price for Graceland North. We all know the stereotype about happy men and interior decorating, so I”’m guessing Star was calling the shots when they bought the matching zebra-skin armchairs.

Frankly, it’s also known as Nouveau Black. If you go to a showroom here in Oakland, you’ll find much the same stuff. And I hear Star’s pad is tasteful compared to LaShawn’s ;p

Mr. Atoz

“Nouveau Black?” When I was a kid, a white guy down the street had pretty much the same decorating scheme, and we just called it butt-ugly. The guy made a ton of money in some government surplus scam, IIRC. Had the worst toupee I have ever seen in my life.

I’m not surprised LaShawn can’t compete, though. Because, you know, Star’s got that brittle Big Apple sophistication going for her.

There’s also Early Jewish Renaissance and “Decorated by Luigi”–as long as we’re indulging ourselves in stereotypes. Either way, that is one ugly room.

I went with a Negro friend to look for furniture. Like myself, he’s mortified by his own people. So we’re in this showroom, & some of it was stolid & respectable, & some of it was the above-pictured atrocities.

I’m like, What is THAT shit about?

In answer, he nodded towards a black couple who had just come into the store & headed straight for the Gaudy Section…

I live in a predominately black neighborhood, and I concur with the Nouveau Black thing. I have to travel to the ‘burbs to find normal stuff. Of course, it was about the same when I went into a VERY wealthy Greek’s house.
