The Spanish Portuguese* colony of Brazil is following in the motherland’s footsteps by banning skinny models from the catwalk.
A major Brazilian fashion event has moved to bar models under the age of 16, part of a national effort to increase awareness about eating disorders following the death of a 21-year-old model from anorexia last month.

“In Paris and Milan, models under 16 years can’t participate in these types of events,” Paula Marini, a spokeswoman for Ford Models, said Thursday. “In Brazil this is a new procedure.”
Me, I still don’t understand why women think having the body of a prepubescent boy is sexy, but what the hell do I know I’ve got a dangling participle. Now as a capitolist pig I realize that government interfearance should upset me, but the way I see it, if the fashion industry won’t regulate itself somebody has to. Now since we’ve already got the governement geared up and in regulation mode I propose we ban the following:
1) Low-rise Jeans for men.
2) Juicy Shorts being sold / worn by any female under the age of 18 or made in a size XXL.
3) Manties.
4) Any article of clothing that would contribute to teh “muffin top“.
5) Wife beaters worn by men with back-hair.

Brazil was a colony of Portugal, not Spain. The official language there is Portuguese, not Spanish.
Eh, don’t worry about that one. Gwyneth gave that “fake quote” to a Portuguese newspaper and claimed that it got mixed up because her Spanish was a bit rusty.

for the simple fact that dumb fashion designers over in paris and italy or whereever make clothes for skinny (read: shapeless and boney like an elderly grandmother) women because for some twisted reason they think true curves is in the category as real overweight. women are brainwashed by the lie thats been goin around for a while now. the truth is, skinny women are unattractive. i dont like frail-lookin walkin skeletons. a sexy woman has some meat on her bones and a tiny bit of fat in the right places (hips, booty, legs, arms, and breasts). the best choice is to have a little tone but still fleshy. too much muscle is just as bad as not enough. because each woman’s build is diffrent it has to be tailored to fit the figure.
