While Britney Spears languishes in that horrible rehab centre where gourmet chefs, masseurs, and acupuncture sessions are presumed to be the cure for her drug and alcohol-fueled benders and croth-flashing episodes, the predictable bit of hindsight comes to mind.

According to the Popbitch newsletter, a Canadian “Backward Speech Analyst” named Jon Kelly has examined Britney’s bubblegum song lyrics for precursors to her deviant behavior. Kelly claims that Baby One More Time contains the following message when played backwards:

“Baby, I’m really sick. Save me will ya. Love – it’s real but it sucks. It makes her mad. We are scum.”

In addition, a quick bit of research reveals a few more such hidden gems from Backmask Online. This site provides auditory proof that Baby One More Time contains the oh-so-subtle backward message of “Sleep with me, I’m not too young.” Further, Oops, I Did It Again offers the following classic reverse lyrics: “I am a slut.”

That last example pretty much cinches the argument, wouldn’t you say?
