TMZ obtained the legal papers, filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In her petition, Spears asks for both legal and physical custody of the couple’s two children, one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James, with Federline getting reasonable visitation rights.

As for money, sources tell TMZ the couple, who married in Oct. 2004, has an iron-clad prenup. Not surprisingly, Spears is waiving her right to spousal support. She’s also asking the judge to make each party pay their own attorney’s fees.

Sources tell TMZ there was no single reason for Britney pulling the plug, rather, it was “a string of events.”

Poor K-Fed, he’s screwed. Well financially he’s screwed, career wise that horse never left the gate. Anybody seen the line on how long it’ll take K-Fed to be back in the trailer park where he belongs? I’m betting on six months.

I don’t really think it’s a coincidence Britney “did” Letterman last night. She subtly announced that she’s back. Well once she gets her boobies back to their proper pre-milk-producing-days height she’ll be back.

I realize the Ms. Spears doesn’t have raw sexuality emanating from her pours like Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie, but her latest appearance on Letterman shows that she’s almost has her pre-child-birthin’ figure back. Is Britney hoping to climb to the top of the ranks in MILFability? I realize she’ll never have the Lesbian-For-A-Day-With-Angelina draw so ladies, y’all keep quiet (like that’ll happen).

The question everyone is wondering and nobody is asking. If you escaped from parents’ basement and had a full three minutes of unbridled passion with Britney would you consider it to be a major accomplishment or would you do the walk of shame?
