The Inglourious Basterds website has added a feature (in the “Downloads” section) that allows you to Build Your Own Basterd. Surprisingly, I’ve not built one yet, but, if I feel like slacking off a bit more than usual today, that’s gonna happen. In other news, Eli Roth has finally gotten his own international character poster, so check it out at the bottom of this post. First, however, Wired Magazine has a photoshoot of Brad Pitt, Quentin Tarantino, and Roth that illustrates the answers to a series of “Ask a Basterd” questions:
- Can I answer my cell during a movie if it seems urgent?
- Can I talk on the phone while taking a whiz?
- I want to post a picture of my wife’s butt on twitter á la Ashton Kutcher?
- Is it OK to look at pornography at work?
- Our Rock Band bassist sucks. Am I a total jerk if I kick him out?
- Should I ask my World of Warcraft wife if she’s really a dude?
- If I Exaggerate My Salary on Online Dating Profile, Should I Fess Up?
Ha. The idea of Pitt surfing online porn is actually quite amusing, for I seem to remember a certain interview, in which Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., and Anne Hathaway were asked if they Googled themselves. Pitt’s response: “Never. First of all, I don’t really know how to operate a computer.” Maybe Maddox gave Daddy a few lessons since then.

UPDATE: Congratulations to Eli Roth for receiving The Indie Visionary Award from the The Holly Shorts film festival:
Many people don’t realize that everything I’ve done has been independently made and later distributed by a studio, and from beginning I set out to redefine the perception of what an “indie” movie could be, so it really means a lot to me they’re recognizing me this way. Anyway – here’s the real news – to celebrate we’re having a screening of my Director’s Cut of CABIN FEVER. This does NOT EXIST on video, DVD, blu-ray, cable – anywhere. This is my personal print, the same one that was screened at the 2002 Toronto Film Festival, and it has about 4 extra minutes. I believe that no other prints of my director’s cut survived, so this is it. We’re screening in Hollywood at the Sunset 5 Cinema on Friday August 7th, and I will be there to see the movie. If you want tickets then go here.
