As readers would know, Charlotte Church has long since traded in her voice for the fists of an angel and settled her apple bottom into a Friday night chat show in England. Apparently, viewers who haven’t heard the voice of our Char since her operatic tween years are completely shocked to learn that “now she has the foul mouth of a sewer rat.”
The channel that hosts Charlotte’s show has been showered with complaints of Miss Church’s “immature and puerile” language which can only be characterized by the lifeless as “coarse, crude and filthy.” Also at issue are the “irreverent” sketches such as the one that portrays the Pope as a Nazi, as well as the episode that features a crucified Charlotte cursing from atop a cross.
Producers aren’t exactly afraid of the controversy that “The Charlotte Church Show” has generated. Although 400,000 audience members disappeared between week one and two of the show’s first season, Charlotte has been holding strong for weeks with 1.7 million viewers each Friday evening. She may want to tuck some of that money into the bank for her future liver replacement needs.

This may be the greatest television show ever created. Though I admit I am having a hard time watching it due to an unaccountable boredom factor. How is this possible? The concept has * everything *. Maybe I am just still freaked about Ashlee Simpson’s nose. She was lovely before and now she looks like a Cameron Diaz fembot. Which in itself is not a bad thing but in comparison is a problem.
