Holy crap. Not only has Chris Elliot defied the laws of the universe by spawning, but his daughter is pretty damn cute. Abby Elliot has joined the cast of “SNL” and will debut this Saturday:
“Saturday Night Live,” feeling the loss of Tina Fey and now Amy Poehler, has added two women to its roster–Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins.
Elliott, the daughter of onetime Letterman sidekick Chris Elliott and granddaughter of veteran comic Bob Elliott (of “Bob and Ray” fame), is from Wilton, Conn. She worked at the improv theater founded by Poehler, L.A.’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She also trained at the Groundlings Theater in L.A. According to reports, she does impressions of Drew Barrymore and Chicagoan Joan Cusack.
Michaela Watkins was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and raised in Boston, NBC says. She is a Groundlings Theater alum as well, and has appeared on CBS’ sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”
Hopefully, these two ladies will boost the ratings. Certainly, Abby must be not only better looking but also much funnier than her father, who, I’m sorry to say, hasn’t ever produced a joke that’s actually made me laugh. Yes, that statement pretty much makes me a total asshole, but so be it.
In related news, Paul Rudd will be hosting this weekend’s episode of “SNL,” and the promo video (next page, bitches) features he and Andy Samburg as “Just two bros, bro-ing it up.” Naturally, their tone is a campy one, but it does disturb me that, in my medicinally induced haze, I watched this video a few hours ago, promptly fell asleep for a nap, and dreamed that Paul Rudd showed up in one of my (college or law school, not sure which) classes and asked me to go to the movies with him. Gawd, I hate those dreams.

AB, you didn’t see Cabin Boy, did you? He was pretty funny in that. I actually don’t mind him as much as Ben Stiller, the angel of death of all unfunny things!

Marilyn
It’s not her, but the resemblance, as I said, is uncanny.
