Dennis Publishing has “confirmed the worst-kept secret in publishing” that Maxim, Stuff, and Blender have indeed been on the auction block for almost a year.

Although Maxim and Stuff do have enormous paid circulation numbers, 2.5 million and 1.2 million respectively, these numbers have remained relatively stagnant since 2001. Even more troubling are the falling ad page sales, which fell 6.8% and 14% last year. Even those wankers in the UK are apparently wanking less as the “market for racy men’s magazines is tanking even in England.”

Since men are just as sexed up as ever, they must be getting their cheesecake online. Why bother buying a magazine if you can see Britney’s crotch online, eh? The much sexier Christina Aguilera attempts to Maxim a bit of a boost with these photographs:
