This story isn’t exactly poppin’ fresh, but it’s just now being spread by people like Jimmy Kimmel who more or less shape my world view, so we might as well share it. Last week, Gary Busey announced he would donate his brain to science (after he’s finished using it, a point most observers would place somewhere back in the Eighties). This might actually be somewhat useful—Busey nearly died after a motorcycle accident in 1988 sent him flying headfirst into a curb, never a good idea and especially when you’re not wearing a helmet. The accident might have something to do with Busey’s general level of batshit insanity, although he was pretty batshit insane to begin with. But he’s been distilling his insanity for nearly a quarter-century, so Busey’s prospective donation has less to do with surviving massive cerebral trauma than with his own general awesomeness. As he put it in his own inimitable fashion: “It will be a propagational proportion to the pandemically pronasanal.”
If giving or receiving Busey’s brain sounds a little too pandemically pronasanal for you, you could always go with golf clothes. And once again, Busey is here to help. A whole slew of outtakes from Busey’s wardrobe (mostly golf clothes) are available on eBay, and the asking prices are surprisingly reasonable. So if you’re still shopping for Christmas gifts, I suggest the golf clothes. Busey would probably fight you for the brain, and the man is so batshit insane/awesome that he’d probably win.
