Rest assured that the blog is safe this Wednesday, as I’ve firmly booted SADIE LOU!!! into the basement. This week, I’d like to indulge briefly in the trashiness of one Tom Cruise. Oh the ignorance of this man, who slammed Brooke Shields as a drug addict for taking medication as part of her treatment for postpartum depression. In fact, he stated, “When you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that.” Instead of going to the doctor, “[W]hat you do is you use vitamins.” Pardon?

Lest we not forget that Cruise has never fathered a child biologically, which means that his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, never went through postpartum depression. It helped keep her pretty to adopt their two children instead, you know, so she didn’t get fat. Ah yes, but according to Cruise, vitamins and Scientology can cure all. Tom maintains that he’s helped several drug addicts get clean, but do we really think he was there when they went through the withdrawal symptoms? Did he hold the heroin addict’s hand whilst they puked into the commode and went through several weeks of shivers, sweats, and fits of physical agony? I highly doubt that.

In light of this, have you ever asked yourself, “Why is he such a dick?” Well, I certainly have, and The Beast has enlightened my psyche through an analysis of the dickness of Cruise in light of the DSM IV Criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. In particular, in reference to the first criterion involving “a grandiose sense of self-importance,” here’s what this column had to say:

1. Not only expects and receives praise for his crap studio movies like Jerry Maguire and Minority Report, Cruise now averages $20 million per movie and grossed $145 million for the two steaming piles known as Mission: Impossible I and II.

The rest of the column is priceless and well worth a read. As to Cruise’s massive ego, we haven’t heard the last of this - of that I am sure. Apparently, Mission: Impossible III just might get tossed in the can before preduction starts. This makes one wonder what Scientology will prescribe to Cruise as a cure for the truth. Will he still be able to conquer righteous booty? Stay tuned.
