Or at least she’s thinking about it. If various sources can be believed, Dakota Fanning is in discussions to play Jane, some tweener vampire with a serious case of camera red-eye, in New Moon, the follow-up to the hilariously overanticipated Twilight. This is a surprising move for Ms. Fanning, whose projects usually aspire to a certain level of class (aside from The Cat in the Hat, and maybe War of the Worlds–okay, I said usually). Unfortunately, it might also be pretty good casting. Check out the description of Jane from the above wiki:
Jane is slight with short, pale brown hair. She has a rather slim and androgynous figure. She has an angelic face, which is the only thing that keeps her from being mistaken for a boy. She has wide eyes, full lips, and a childlike voice.
Supposedly the part was going to Vanessa Hudgens of High School Musical fame before the producers switched course and offered it to Dakota, so this is disappointingly good news. Vanessa is a perfectly nice young woman, but a vampire she is not. Miscasting that inspired might actually have lured me into the theatre. As it is, three minutes of Twilight performed by puppets is all the Twilight I want or need.

i think she’d be perfect as Jane.
is Dakota Fanning old enough to show up in movies as a teenager?
