J. K. Rowling is wrapping up her Harry Potter saga in two weeks with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but Daniel Radcliffe is going to be trapped at Hogwarts for another two or three years (by which time he’ll be twenty, and the oldest student in the place). The role has earned him a truckload of money, which he’ll get when he turns 18 on July 23, but it’s understandable that Radcliffe doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life being known as “that Harry Potter guy.” Hence, his appearance in Equus. And calculated interviews like this one, where he reveals that Daniel Radcliffe, unlike Harry Potter, is kind of a slut:

Girls who want to go out with me just because I’m famous has never been a problem. I’m 17. I don’t care.

Obviously, if I wanted a deep and meaningful relationship then I wouldn’t want to be going out with somebody who is only with me because I’m an actor, but if you don’t want a relationship like that then it’s fine.

Harryexcuse me, Danieldid say that there are no Harry Potter games in the bedroom. In fact, any girl who called him “Harry” would get tossed out on the spot. (It’s known that Radliffe wants to see Harry Potter die, so it’s fair to say that his relationship with the character is somewhat ambivalent.) Presumably, jokes about his “magic wand” are also not a good idea.
