Poor David Bowie has been the topic of the most bizarre of rumours lately. Now, it seems that a so-called Twitter “imposter” has created the impression that Bowie intended to resurrect his most famous of alter egos. So, Bowie himself has denounced this untruth and, as such, denied the revival of Ziggy Stardust for a live performance at Coachella:
Newspapers and websites reported that the star would be performing his classic 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars in its entirety.
However, a statement on Bowie’s website said: “I’m sure the majority of you saw this tale for what it was anyway – poppycock. However, we feel duty-bound to deny this particular story, lest members be fleeced of their hard-earned.”
HAhahahaha! Lemme tell ya, there are a couple of rather convincing fake celebrity Twitter accounts out there, but “BowieTweet” is, most decidedly, not one of them. Do you think David Bowie would actually tell anyone, “[D]o enjoy this B(owie)-day!” Exactly. Hell, if you’re jonesing for some Ziggy Stardust-era schlock, just go watch Velvet Goldmine.
Unfortunately, however, it is indeed true that Bowie did recently voice a “SpongeBob SquarePants” character named Lord Royal Highness. Aside from that, Bowie’s been taking it easy after his heart troubles as well as playing the proud father to his son, director Duncan Jones, at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Moon. More piccies of Bowie, Duncan, and that Sting guy are below:

[...] BowieTweet is full of poppycock – ABH [...]
What kind of monster would set up a fake celebrity Twitter account?
