Howdy, y’all. This is just a crappy administrative announcement that I’ve fucked with this blog’s feeds and directed them towards FeedBurner. In addition, since I’m loathe to do anything to help you lurkers actually say less than you already do, I did not perform the requisite steps to automagically redirect all three types of feeds. Just because I’m a dumbass, I’ll probably put up a button in the near future, but for now, you assholes can find the feed here. It is amazing that a consistent boost in traffic doesn’t help the quantity of observable conversations here, but as many long-time readers know, that doesn’t much bother me, because I’m not a comment whore. I don’t play games in “real life,” and I’m just not going to play that notorious bloggers’ game of “a comment for a comment.”
Anyway, that’s the feed news, and that is all.

I can’t tell for sure, but are you irritated at the lack of comments, the overall quality of the comments, or are you just suffering from general malaise?
To be honest, I’m irritated that people don’t read blogs anymore – they skim them via RSS. The comments – give or take them – a few years ago, they did matter to me, but now, not so much.
I’m more irritated that I had to write the post about RSS feeds, because when I have turned them off in the past, I get a giant bitchfest in my mailbox.
Nothing against the people who do comment here regularly of course, but when I rant like I have over the past few days, the conversation grinds to an impressive halt.
Blogging is very cyclical in all aspects. I’ll probably never stop putting my crap online, but some days it’s less amusing than others.
Wha-?
Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just lurking around.
Daily visitor. Fellow Okie. Can’t add a thing to what’s already said. Love this place!
Don’t forget to change the header info to the feedburner link, for us folks what like that sort of thing. Auto-discovery, and whatnot. And there’s that plugin what makes the link to your rss feed hidden, so people have to use the feedburner version.
About the skimmers, that’s really been the way the world works since they figured out that printing press. People skim everything, newspapers, magazines, pr0n (maybe not), and blogs are about the same. That’s why it’s so important to have a great headline, as that’s what draws people in to your story.
That, and Paris Hilton’s goods on display.
I lurk but I don’t lurk by RSS. As a blogger I hate RSS and ::shock:: I don’t even have a RSS reader. I surf old style via my blogroll. Call me a dinosaur but I think it’s just so much more polite for you to be able to get that hit and see my calling card (dropping?) on your sitemeter.
Thank you, Janette. Now I know I’m not the only one who hates RSS!
RSS feeds are da debil.
i don’t even know what RSS is — is that blissfully ignorant?
I love RSS feeds. So much easier to keep up with large numbers of blogs. If the feed doesn’t contain the full text, I still read what is there and then clicky the linky if the topic interests me. Oh, and lurking is a great thing.
RSS. Is that a courier service? I, too, am woefully ignorant as to its working.
But then I just figured out how to load the world map on sitemeter.
