After trashing Kristen Stewart for her runaway vocal cords, it seems only fair to mention that the girl is not without her defenders, and Shirley Manson is a pretty damn awesome defender. Personally, I’d probably give up one or two of my paired organs just to get a kind smile from her, and Kristen got considerably more than that. Yesterday Shirley wrote a long, long, mash note to Kristen on her Facebook page, listing all the dozens, possibly hundreds of things she likes about the Twilight actress:

Why are people so turned off by Kristen Stewart?!?!?! I don’t get it. I think she’s the best thing about the entire Twilight franchise. Absolutely. She’s delicious to look at. She’s a talented actress. (I don’t care what anyone else has to say about her acting because I think she behaves EXACTLY the way me and all my pals did around that age of the character she is playing so THERE!)

Go to Shirley’s Facebook page and read the whole thing. I broke up Shirley’s eccentric line and paragraph breaks to make the quote more compact, but there’s roughly a solid page of this stuff. Either Shirley Manson is hoping for some sort of involvement in the next two chapters of the Twilight franchise, or she’s the biggest twi-hard in the entire United Kingdom. Then again, she might have written this when she was really, really drunk.
