Heather Locklear finally did what we all knew would happen by dumping poor David Spade. The word from People Magazine is that they are “taking a break” from their non-dating but still holding hands and kissing sort of relationship:

“Heather is still going through a lot with Denise (Richards) and (estranged husband) Richie (Sambora). It’s just too soon for her to get serious. They are still friends. It’s not ugly.”

Although they were “just friends,” Spade’s spokesperson claims that the split was a “was a mutual decision.” Gee, I wasn’t aware that friends publicly take”breaks” from each other’s relations, but maybe I’m just running behind the sociological trends these days. At any rate, this could spell trouble for Denise Richards, since Richie Sambora may just go running back to Heather’s side. Would that mean that Denise’s sweet world could just melt away?
