We might finally have found an award more worthless than a Grammy. Details Magazine has released its list of the 50 Most Influential Men Under 45, and K-Fed landed the #7 spotand the coveras Father of the Year. (Actually, he shares the honor with Larry Birkhead, which sounds about right.) This is much like naming K-Fed as Rapper of the Year because someone, somewhere, found an album that stank worse than Playing with Fire. Just to put Mr. Federline’s achievement in perspective, consider the rest of the list:
- The #1 spot goes to Zac Efron and anyone else who starred in a Disney project this year.
- #6one spot above K-Fed and Birkheadis Mr. Generic Loan Defaulter. Six other spots also go to generic figures, along with a couple of fads, a fictional character, and Ellen DeGeneris’ dog.
- Other high rollers on the list include Muqtada al-Sadr, the Columbine shooters, the inventor of YouPorn, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, and Perez Hilton.
It’s worth reading, just to see what a warped perspective on the world you get looking out the windows of Details’ corporate offices. Granted, they didn’t say “positive role models,” but most of them aren’t even influential. Not so much causes as symptoms, really. Although Ryan Seacrest has probably already sent an oozingly sycophantic letter to Details, thanking them for his #20 ranking. Another oozingly sycophantic letter.

Damn it. With “winners” like that, I should have been #1, if for no other reason than I haven’t procreated.
