It’s been just two days since Blake Fielder-Civil pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm on bartender James King, not to mention the more serious charge of perverting justice by offering the highly bribeable Mr. King £s;200,000 to withdraw the charges. The sentence (which could be a stiff one) hasn’t even been handed down, but Blake’s not even waiting for this case to be closed before he becomes a repeat offender. Supposedly he’s offering serious money to have Pete Doherty “smashed to pieces”:

“We were sitting in my cell and he said, ‘If you get Doherty for me I’ll give you £s;20,000.’ He kept saying, ‘Can you arrange it?’ and telling me to get some guys to his house. He knew the address. He said, ‘Amy’s obviously sleeping with him.’ He knew I used to be a doorman and knew some tough people. He said he wanted him smashed to pieces.”

There are so many problems with this story that it’s hard to know where to start. Sure, pounding the living shit out of Pete Doherty is a worthy cause, but Blake Fielder-Civil is hardly in a position to sponsor the event. And sleeping with Amy Winehouse is really its own punishment. It would be more appropriate for Blake to send Pete a nice sympathy card, not a vicious beating. And the high likelihood that he’s paying for the beating with even more of Amy’s money, just like he did the first time, adds an extra layer of sociopathic tackiness to the whole sorry kerfuffle.

Ah, well. It sounds like Amy might be talking to Blake through two inches of bulletproof glass for quite some time to come. Assuming she can fit him into her schedule.
