The first video from Bob Dylan’s long-awaited Christmas album is out, and it’s… well, it’s difficult to describe. Imagine a Christmas party set in the “Mad Men” era, only somebody spiked the punch bowl with LSD or drain cleaner or whatever people were getting high on back in those days. On second thought, drain cleaner wouldn’t be necessary. The guests were probably driven mad by the jungle rhythms of the accordion.
Dylan deserves some credit for going along with this project, and it’s nice to see that he can still come up with something unexpected. The man’s been recording for 45 years, and at no point in his career would anyone have accused him of having a sense of humor this thoroughly twisted.
