Or not; it depends on how much faith you place in unsupported gossip on fly-by-night websites like this one. A blind item at the creatively named blog Blind Gossip claims that a “Stepford Wife” (not Nicole Kidman) has been advised by her attorneys that the time clause in her marriage contract is unenforceable. What’s more, she’s ready to play hardball with her knowledge of her husband’s same-sex hookups “to get her sentence reduced and to to gain custody over the couple’s kid/s.” A week ago, another blind item at the same site reported that the same “Stepford Wife” (who definitely, absolutely isn’t Nicole Kidman) had “actually consulted with several high-profile divorce lawyers on both coasts,” and added, “she’s gotten her parents involved.”

Mysterious. Blind items always leave me stumped, and this one’s no exception. What with all the marital hijinks in the celebrity crowd, this could be anyone who’s married to a man widely rumored to be gay, who allegedly signed a five-year marriage contract, and whose father is a divorce lawyer. When all the dust settles, we’ll probably learn this is some years-old bit of recycled gossip about Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.
