Yeah, the Agent and I are both having all sorts of technical troubles, but those should be resolved in a flash (blogspeak for “any… day… now”). In the meantime, life or whatever it calls itself goes on in the world of pop culture, and we’ll try to post an item about it every now and then. Like the above artifact, which is the cover of a new comic from Microcosm Publishing depicting Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig as gay lovers. The publisher’s website explains the thinking behind this production:
The premise of this Cantankerous Titles-released comic is explained at the front of the zine: “Henry and Glenn are very good ‘friends.’ They are also ‘room mates.’ Daryl and John live next door. They are satanists.”
So you get not one, but two premises: Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig are a long term, committed gay couple, and Daryl Hall and John Oates worship Satan. The zine sounds like a bargain. Moreover, even though the writers claim this is fiction, both these ideas would explain quite a lot about the music I grew up listening to.
