Japan ♥ Quentin Tarantino

By Bedhead in Adverts, Quentin Tarantino

One would infer that Japanese audiences respond favourably when Quentin Tarantino appears in their product commercials because QT just keeps on making these adverts, and they’re pretty bizarre in a very anti-cool way. Konichiwa!

Did You Know? Kill Bill: Vol. 1 features a Japanese character who is nicknamed “Charlie Brown.” Lost in Translation (directed by Sofia Coppola) includes a moment when Scarlett Johansson introduces Bill Murray to one of her Japanese friends, whose name is “Charlie Brown.” Both films were released in 2003 at about the same time that Tarantino dated Coppola.

Oh now, I’m a Kill Bill fangirl and didn’t know that! Sadly, I’m also a Quentin Tarantino fangirl and I think the commercials are hysterical.

(Please note: I RARELY declare myself the fangirl of anyone. I must really, really love Quentin Tarantino. )
