Admittedly, I’m find it rather amusing when young starlets go to great lengths to escape their usual confines. Evidently, Kristen Stewart really wanted some distance from playing chaste vampire-girlfriend Bella Swan, and her two Sundance films tell the tale. In Welcome to the Rileys, Stewart plays a stripper that takes it all off except for some red-tape pasties. Then, of course, The Runaways has Stewart in the role of Joan Jett, who, as Stewart tells Collider had some very specific directions on how to play that rhythm guitar:
Q: What was it like putting that…I mean a rock and roll electric guitar. It’s a great big phallic symbol. What was it like sort of strapping that on?
Kristen: No, totally in fact, like I don’t know if I can say this…whatever you can use it or not…well like her biggest…whenever I wasn’t coming from the right place, she was always like Kristen, pussy to the wood. Fuck your guitar. I was like okay. So like when you’ve got Joan Jett telling you to fuck your guitar, yeah, it’s all good. I liked it.
One gets the feeling that countless Twihards will unwittingly check out The Runaways and completely freak out when their precious Bella snorts cocaine, makes out with Dakota Fanning, and even urinates all over a guitar. Yummy.

So in other words, business as usual, minus the Dakota thing?
