Remember that guy that you used to know in high school — the one who was chronically stoned and decided, out of the blue, that all of Axl Rose’s lyrics were “fucking genius”? Well, Joaquin Phoenix is that guy:
He says, “For some time, I was hoping to do porn versions of movies I’ve been in. That could have been good, like ‘Glad He Ate Her’ for Gladiator, 8MM you might want to remake as 8 Inches. I have a friend who can rattle off porn titles for every movie I’ve been in. its [sic] f**king genius.”
If Joaquin is looking towards a future with more Oscar nominations, this ain’t the way to do it. Still, for an angry dork, this plan is fucking genius.

Used to like this guy, then he made some political comment a few weeks ago. Add him to the “dipshit” list.
As for his preparing for his role as a drug-addled nightclub owner, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he prepared for it by doing a lot of drugs. I can’t say I really blame him for not wanting to say so in an interview though.

A friend of mine once came up with the idea of a porn version of ‘Edward Scissorhands’ – he renamed it ‘Johnny Nobarms’ instead. Now that was fucking genius. At least, we thought so until we found out that it had already been done, as ‘Edward Dickerhands’.
