Kate Moss Contractually Required To Ignore Bloody Pete

Kate Moss may have realized that her relationship with Pete Doherty isn’t exactly well-received by the modelling industry, where appearances are indeed everything. Kate has reportedly been in negotiations with John Frieda to front a major advertising campaign, and one of the sticking points of the contract has hit quite close to home:

The main stipulation of the contract is that, during the week of the launch, Kate is under no circumstances to be pictured in public with [Pete].

As Shakespeare once said, “Speak low if you speak love.” Or something like that.

Poor Pete should find some consolation (or at least distraction) within his fresh public exhibition of paintings lovingly etched from his own blood:

Robin Barton, of the Bankrobber gallery, presenting the show, claimed the medium was very appropriate for Doherty.

“His use of blood lends itself perfectly to exploring the extraordinary personal and physical intensity that characterises so much of Peter’s life and work as an artist in the broadest sense,” he said.

This business of blood paintings is admittedly rather old news (we spoke of it a year ago) that’s been recycled to publicize this particular exhibition. Paintings are not yet priced, but limited edition prints will go from 350 – 1,200, depending on whether you want Pete to autograph them with pencil or his own blood. Consistency is worth its price, I do suppose.
