Despite a self-proclaimed Pete-a-palooza this week, I’ve been totally eclipsed in the Doherty picture department by this candid action still (The Blemish) and this study in physiognomy (Celebrity Smack). These two images, both of recent Hackney Empire nights, cause even the most ardent Pete Doherty junkie (earwax notwithstanding) to wonder how the hell he and Kate are still alive. It baffles.
This debauchery provides a sharp contrast to the illusion of domesticity that Topshop seeks to promote in regard to the May 1st launch of Kate’s clothing range. Some promotional shots appear on the cover of the Dazed and Confused magazine (tip from the dashingly dapper Flea), which is the same rag published by Jefferson Hack. Oddly, these romantic images of smooshy kisses are fully supported by Hack, who is also Kate’s ex-boytoy and the father of her daughter. Ah, the novelty of domesticity in the form of an uncomfortable looking dining room table at her Gloucestershire home and being kissed by a half-conscious Doherty. Now, let’s go buy some clothes, bitches!
