Sometimes, one cannot help but wonder how certain movies would have turned out in the hands of different directors. Most of us give the thought a passing giggle or two before abandoning the thought, but others actually get creative with the original films’ trailers to produce recut versions. They even have competitions for this shit, and some of the trailers are pretty damn amusing. Two of my current favourite recuts are “If David Lynch Directed Dirty Dancing” and “The Terminator Love Bot.” Also worth watching are “The Shining As Romantic Comedy” and “Scary Mary Poppins.”

Oh, and I accept full blame for the awfulness of the derivative film photos above. Don’t blame them on the folks who did the actual recutting of the trailers.
