I think third-parties certainly have their place on bringing new ideas into the political discourse on the national and state levels. However, it's a losing strategy to join one formally, and I do believe that to divide is not to conquer. I'm far more in tune with the Republican platform than the Liberal one, and just because most of my beliefs run with the Libertarian IDEALS doesn't mean that I HAVE to vote for them and act as their cheerleader. They make so many stupid mistakes in practice, even though their motivations are understandable. However, results are what matter, not intentions. One can have all the great intentions in the world, but it doesn't matter at all if nothing gets done.
