Quentin Tarantino’s feisty French girl, Melanie Laurent, now joins Diane Kruger as a female Basterd. Melanie’s character, Shoshanna Dreyfus, was a child when her family was killed by Nazis, and, as an adult, Shoshanna runs the theater that is instrumental to the film’s climax. For obvious reasons, her character is analogous to Beatrix Kiddo of the Kill Bill films.
