A hellish fire raged up the ridges of the Hollywood Hills on Friday afternoon, leaving 150 acres of burnt brush in its wake and mercifully sparing the iconic Hollywood sign. Presently in police custody are two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17, who admitted to causing the fire while vacationing with their parents on a trip from Illinois.
For several hours smoke roiled into the sky behind the famous Hollywood sign that stands on the south face of the hills, but the flames made no move down the south face and by late afternoon the landmark appeared to be well out of any danger.
Some 200 firefighters and five helicopters battled the flames, said Fire Department spokesman Ron Myers. Helicopters operated from landing pads atop nearby Mount Lee, a landmark topped with transmitters.
The fire was contained before any homes or businesses were destroyed, but it was a close call for Warner Bros. Entertainment, which was reportedly filled with smoke and readied for evacuation until the all-clear sign was given. Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city!

Isn’t it a little convenient at this time for there to be a fire in Hollywood? I mean, there are firefighters in Hollywood and yet we are supposed to believe there was a fire. Meanwhile, Hollywood special effects are world famous. Occam’s Razor, qui bono and Gulf of Tonkin: Google it!
So what would be the intended benefit in regard to the qui bono aspect?
I think it was a plot by the Bush administration to corner the oil market.
the smoke was insane. Even here it looked like the fire was just blocks away.
