Courtney Solomon may be ready to hit the big time. Granted, so far his body of work (two Dungeons & Dragons movies and An American Haunting) hasn’t exactly wowed anyone. But his new movie, Captivity, is a venture into the thrilling world of torture-pr0n, and the amazingly graphic and tasteless (not to mention hastily withdrawn) ad campaign garnered a truckload of free publicity for Solomon’s little art-house project. Now Solomon hopes to get more free publicity with the premiere party, which will feature the following goodies:
- Suicide Girls. Solomon has requested the three “most outlandish” escorts the punk outfit can provide. They’ll be dates for three of the partygoers on two conditions: “People take the date at their own risk, and everybody on the Internet gets to watch.”
- Cage fighting, hopefully featuring Kimbo Slice. Mr. Slice has announced that he’s given up bare-knuckle boxing, but I bet that if the price is right he’ll reconsider.
- Torture rooms. Guests don’t have to volunteer to check out this feature. Instead, they’ll be grabbed at random and hauled away by people in S&M gear. About what happens to them after that, the less said the better.
- An undisclosed special feature. Solomon wouldn’t describe this, except to say it’s “my personal little tribute to [the women’s groups],” and it’s “probably not legal.”
My, my. Free publicity must be getting awfully expensive these days. Anyway, it probably won’t help much because people are getting sick of torture pr0n. Saw 3 didn’t do as well as Saw 2, and Eli Roth’s Hostel: Part II is tanking disastrously. The Suicide Girls and Kimbo Slice aren’t going to save Captivity, but they might give Courtney Solomon a shot at winning Attention Whore of the Week.

Those into the deviant sexual practices probably don’t charge much for their quasi-services…. or so I hear.
Not that I speak from personal experience or anything.
