Yep, we’re just about as tired of Britney Spears as one would expect, so after this post, we’re officially taking a Britney break. If anything really cool happens (e.g., batshit crazy), we’ll just refer you to other blogs in some Tasty Waves, and we’ll draw upon the otherwise plentiful supply of celebrity crap on this site. So, let’s get this shit over with:
Regrettably, the LAPD has closed the “hitman” investigation due to “insufficient evidence.” The FBI characterized the threat against Kevin Federline as based on “non-specific, uncorroborated information.” Of course, this all reportedly went down back in June, but whatever.
Meanwhile, Britney’s recently-hired management company, The Firm, has issued a public statement:
“It saddens us to confirm media reports that we have terminated our professional relationship with Britney Spears,” her management company The Firm said in the statement. “We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a terrific record. But current circumstances have prevented us from properly doing our job. We wish Britney the best.”
In addition, Britney’s attorney, Laura Wasser, has filed papers with the court stating that she can no longer function as an advocate for her client. Basically, Britney’s lawyer quit, and although she’s already found new representation (for the moment), this sets off some serious red flags that probably have something to do with that secret witness who entered a declaration about Brit’s drug use and constant nudity in front of her boys.
Laura Wasser has been Britney’s attorney for several years, and it seems odd that she would withdraw from the case right now. It’s never a simple matter for an attorney to withdraw from a case, and it’s a particularly difficult maneuver when the client is at a crucial stage, which fits Britney’s current pivotal custody battles. Most of the rules which would allow Wasser to withdraw don’t fit this case . . . except for the possibility that Brit has basically instructed Wasser to commit a fraud upon the court (to win the case), or if Brit persists in criminal or fraudulent conduct despite her lawyer’s counsel.
Fox News is still saying that Brit was supposed to temporarily lose custody of her two children sometime late Monday, but obviously that hasn’t happened yet. Since when did Fox News start to seriously focus on celebrity bullshit? Survey says . . . it happened due to the basic economic principles of supply and demand.
