Amy Winehouse’s chat with the police went so well that they decided to put her under arrest. Maybe. The UK press is reporting that Winehouse has been booked, and that her cell phone records, bank records, and computer files are being held as evidence. All the police are saying, however, is that “A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by appointment at an East London police station. The arrest was in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.”

So possibly Blake Fielder-Civil was conspiring with an entirely different 24-year-old woman to pay off the victim in his grievous bodily harm case. That would add yet another juicy, sordid detail to a case that’s already packed to bursting with sordid goodness (or good sordidness). Right now, Amy’s out on bail until next March, but the odds on her doing something incredibly stupid in the next few months that will make this case even worse look pretty good. I’ve got confidence in this girl.
