Out-Of-Context Yet Still Bizarre Quote Of The Day: Kid Rock

By Bedhead in Kid Rock

“I don’t steal things. I’m rich.” – Bob Richie, a.k.a. “Kid Rock”

Kid Rock recently gave a BBC interview, in which he told his fans to steal his music through P2P services. After all, he’d rather have them steal his music than be able to buy it on iTunes, which wouldn’t pay him enough money. However, he makes it clear that, even though he is standing up for artists’ rights, Kid Rock doesn’t steal from anyone, including iTunes. That pretty much closes the circle of logical fallacy quite nicely.

So, Kid Rock remains among a small handful of large-scale musicians, including AC/DC and The Beatles, who still refuse to make their music available on iTunes. Another musical rebel, Garth Brooks, is still holding out until his home state, Oklahoma, gets some of them internets.

Oh, wait.

In parting, Kid Rock had this bit of wisdom to spread:

Bawitdaba-da-bang-da-dang-diggy-diggy-diggy-said-the boogie-said-up-jump-the-boogie.

Now, I shall make room in my schedule for the usual onslaught of hate mail that arrives whenever I say something even remotely unflattering about Kid Rock, who is, apparently, without flaws. So, if you gotta defend your Rock N Roll Jesus, I’ll save you a step in the process: Send those complaints here, bitches.

Hate mail? Really? I didn’t even know this guy still had fans…

Yeah, I thought it was weird too, but this is a guy with his own pole dancers, so whatever….

I’ve been considering getting a pole dancer flatbed for out front of my house, actually. Nothing says class like that.

I am ambivalent about Kid Rock. One one hand he looks and acts like a piece of trailer trash. On the other hand he has no discernable musical talent. But on the third hand (as we say on my planet), there is this:

Which is pretty cool, and probably makes up for his abnormally small head at least.

Don’t most people already steal music anyway? The only reason there is even an iPod in my house is because I have a 12 year old girl and that’s part of the uniform. It was cheaper to buy a good $30 piece of conversion software and get the 2 billion songs it will hold for free instead of paying .99 for them.

I don’t understand why I’d want to buy crappy mp3s at 99 cents a pop when I can buy used CDs off amazon, rip them at 320k vbr, then resell them, often at a profit.

Try catching me at that, RIAA dorks.
