Paris Hilton stashed her Bentley and took a bike ride through the Hollywood Hills for the benefit of the paparazzi and her adoring public. She’s probably hoping that Governor Arnold Schwartznegger will see her terrible plight and grant clemency from that pesky upcoming jail sentence.

The official word is that Paris “was encouraged to try out an alternative mode of transport by her personal trainer.”

Oh, c’mon. This has nothing to do with socialite fitness and everything to do with publicity, and the general public may be stupid, but hopefully not stupid enough to believe such a statement.

Whatever this all has to do with proven drunk driving, followed by three probation violations, is beyond our capabilities to understand as lowly citizens. Probation is a privilege, not a right, and Paris, you blew it.
